Program Overview

Through the Tourism Emissions Reduction program, businesses can access digital tools including an emissions estimator calculator and follow simple steps to develop a customised emissions reduction plan.

The program covers three main stages:

  • Commit – Calculate emissions from various sources, understand where emissions are created and identify focus areas for reduction
  • Reduce – Develop an action plan to adjust operations and start cutting emissions, including unique actions and timeframes
  • Avoid – Create a plan to adopt renewable energy and set a future date for transition.

Once a business progresses through the stages, they can easily share their own estimated carbon emissions report and their emissions reduction plan through a unique link on their website or via a convenient QR code. The link can be used to attract bookings, and the QR code can make it easy to inform visitors whilst on premises so they can learn more about the business’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

Show measurable progress in cutting carbon emissions and waste. Gain a competitive edge by demonstrating your commitment to a sustainable future.
