Developed in partnership with ERC Australia, the Tourism Emissions Reduction program is a five-stage program that enables tourism businesses to develop an estimated carbon emissions report and an emissions reduction plan. Tourism businesses can access digital tools including an emissions estimator calculator and follow simple steps to develop a customised emissions reduction plan.
As a business progresses through the stages, they can easily share their own estimated carbon emissions report and their emissions reduction plan through a unique link on their website or via a convenient QR code. The link can be used to attract bookings online, and the QR code can make it easy to inform visitors whilst on premises so they can learn more about the business’ commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
With a growing number of visitors seeking out sustainable and environmentally conscious tourism businesses, those making a commitment through this program will have another opportunity to distinguish themselves and reach new markets.
